Did I say that I was upset about exploitation closure? Hell, didn't even hint at it. I don't farm more than once in a while, and I still find the game to be tripe in comparison to what it was before Factions.

You have no idea what you're talking about, because you have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm talking about things like skill changes, and the Soul Reaping nerf. Those definitely effect the casual gamer.

Thats the problem, you haven't seen it. I've been playing WoW since it came out and GW since it came out, GW whining on forums(and in a lot of towns) is a lot more even though WoW has 5 million players more than GW.

ArenaNet is a for-profit business. They aren't some charity helping the homeless. I thank ArenaNet by continuing to buy Guild Wars expansions.
By that reasoning, no professional deserves thanking for the time or passion that they put into their jobs. I suppose we shouldn't thank firemen and coast guard when they save peoples' lives, since they get paid, huh?

An extreme example perhaps, but just because someone earns their living doing a job, that's not to say that we can't appreciate the time and effort they put into it, and thank them accordingly.

Of course we won't all agree with all the updates to the game, and there have been the odd mistakes here and there, but in my opinion, ANet have done a brilliant job in creating and maintaining Guild Wars over the last two years.

Many thanks ANet, from a satisfied customer

How in GODS NAME can you make the assumption that i have never played WoW? For your information you are TOTALLY incorrect, i have played WoW, not only that but have played the most nerfed, and one of thehardest to play classes up to level 70.

Even though i now days rarely play, even though i am still paying, i regularly visit the forums, and YES they ARE full of whines, epically when a new patch is announced. In-game support may be better in WoW, but in most cases, Guild Wars dosen't need to be asked, for information, and when it does, i find the customer support to be very friendly, and quick.

If you think WoW isn't full of nerfs, then please take a look at the scheduled update to come, then return here and tell me otherwise.

Most of all do not make assumptions-I have played WoW, and i honestly believe that Guild Wars is better than far, and i would go as far as saying that if Guild Wars needed money i would happily pay £10 a month for it.

When you become neutral in the WoW vs GW war, instead of siding with GW all of the time, then come back and post.

Because you need to realize guild wars isn't better than anything(I'm not saying wow is better), unless you are talking about GRAPHICS. If Guild Wars didn't have good graphics, it would just be another ****** game in the market.

However i feel that this is incorrect, i have played pretty much all the major, MMORPG's and RPG's out there, and i feel, that Guild Wars has to be, my favorite overall MMO out there.

Thank you ANET for giving Nightfall a proper combat music system. It doesn't start up at the slightest Snow Wolf attacking you.

Thank you ANET for making Margonites and Flesh Golems (minion) so adorable... and making most male characters very handsome.

Come on guys please do not flame... this guy just wants some positive comments for ANET. Is there any harm in that?

I just want an *off* switch for the combat music.

Whether you want to realize it or not, there are people that work for A-net that have their jobs because they enjoy what they do. This is not to say that everyone at A-net would do what they do even if they didn't get paid, but to believe that profit is the only motivation behind GW is a very close minded perspective.

Eloquent and intelligent responses to the OP, and I agree entirely. ANet is obviously composed of a lot of people who love gaming, who love GW, and who want to make it as enjoyable an experience as possible. Anyone who doubts that should watch the DVD that comes with the Nightfall Collectors Edition.

I found myself getting a bit disillusioned with GW, after spending far too much time playing the game, and browsing the boards here. I went looking for other online games to satisfy my gaming cravings. And actually, I didn't find anything that ever came close to GW in terms of enjoyment.

I think a lot of the unhappy GW gamers should take a step back and try gain some perspective. Go check out some other stuff. GW is constantly evolving, and it isn't possible that a single game can cater to everyone's tastes, all the time. I think ANet have done a great deal to make the game more enjoyable for the majority of players, myself included. I loved it when I started playing two years ago, and I still love it now. That doesn't mean I don't still have my criticisms; no game could ever be perfect. But GW is the closest any game has ever come for me.

I'd like to thank the team at ANet for making such a great game, for having the creativity and enthusiasm to implement loads of great new features, and for actually listening and having a dialogue with the fans.

Well put. I was one of those unhappy GW players when loot scaling was introduced. But, with patience and perseverance, I have a reason to continue to play GW. Sometimes things can't always go the way you wanted, it just doesn't work that way. Change can either be good or bad, it all depends on the person.

On-Topic:
I've been wanting to say this since I first bought Prophecies when it first came out. Been playing it since then, except when I took a 7 month break for Runescape...WTH?!!

Thank You Anet for such a great game! Keep it up.

I have absolutely no problem with thanking Anet every chance I get. If you don't want to say a simple "thank you", then please GTFO of this thread and go cry your little eyes out somewhere else.

Thank you Anet for going above and beyond what is required of you to support this great game, and most of all NOT raping our wallets like so many other online games do these days. Thanks for HM, extra storage, etc... it's all great! Keep it coming! Of course there's still room for improvement in Guild Wars, but with every patch I feel like the game is getting 1 step closer to perfection. Call me paranoid but sometimes I really think the devs read my mind somehow, and make this game just for me. Every change and addition makes sense to me. When you added pet controls, heroes, titles, promised to increase the level cap in GW2, etc... all these things made me happy, because I wished for them before they came. Even when something gets nerfed there's usually good reason for it. I can't wait to see what the people of Anet have in the works for both GWEN and GW2.

Then go play WoW...I haven't seen you post anything useful anywhere on these boards except for 'I hate A-Net for no specified reason'. This thread is for people who have enjoyed Guild Wars, realizing that A-Net is an organization made up of people who love to get a thanks every once in a while as much as we all do. If you really don't feel that A-Net doesn't deserve you to take 30 seconds out of your day and post a simple 'thank you, A-Net', then maybe you should stop playing and just leave these boards for people who actually desire to play the game and enjoy the community.

If you do not wish to thank A-Net then this thread is not for you, please just leave it.

I'm just going to add one thing: I find it ironic that the people who are complaning about the complaning are more vocal than the people complaining about the "thank-you's." I think there have been more posts of the former than the latter. Just a point of comment.

There are more flames than thanks in this thread, smells like a close to me...

With that being said, I'm going to be thankful for this:

ANet, thank you so much for the kick-ass animation. It's a very big nitpick of mine - I can't even play Oblivion a whole lot because of it has bad animation.

So thank you for that, I hope they continue to have such kick-ass animation in GW2. Or else I, personally, will be very upset...

Thanks for the very pleasant thread, Mazik. And thanks for your comments, too, Amon Warrior, Shadow Kurd, hallomik, Raiin Maker, Loviatar, druggedchimp, mikez himself, XvArchonvX (there is a lot of wisdom in what you said), greyf0x_f0x, Taurucis, enchanted_joker, Miss Persephone (great comments on perspective), Envious, Kalki, and Bryant Again.

We know you buy the game; we don't claim to be a charity, and we're not going to suggest that anyone "owes" us a word of thanks. However, kindness costs nothing, and words of thanks, of fondness for what we work on, and of support for the projects and the team are more than just heart-warming, they provide true inspiration and make us want to do better and give more in the future.

Thank you all, in return!
